Material Knowledge
Bamboo Fiber Biodegradable Material
Made from renewable bamboo and blended with PBAT and a trace amount of PLA, this is a fully biodegradable material system. It gives a natural matte finish and raises the bio-based content. Its density of 0.98 g/cm³ is lower than most bio-based alternatives, so the same weight makes 27–38% more bags. This makes it one of the most cost-effective and eco-friendly bio-based options available.
Starch-Based Material
Based on natural starch, blended with PBAT and PLA to form a biodegradable system. Mature processing and good heat-seal performance make it the most widely used biodegradable option for consumer packaging. Water resistance should be evaluated per application and environment.
Conventional Plastic (Fossil-Based)
PE, PP and other fossil-based plastics offer a mature supply chain but are nearly impossible to biodegrade. Microplastic pollution and tightening plastic regulations worldwide are driving accelerating demand for bio-based alternatives.
